Symptoms

While hypertension symptoms are sometimes hard to spot, here are some symptoms worth watching

- Blood in the urine

Diagnosing Hypertension

Your health care provider can tell if you have hypertension by checking your blood pressure. You can also measure your own blood pressure at home or in many pharmacies. We should all have our blood pressure checked at least once a year, since hypertension is a serious condition that can damage the heart and blood vessels, and can eventually lead to other conditions, including:

- Stroke

- Heart failure

- Heart attack

- Kidney failure

- Vision problems
